Lately, I have been showing town houses, there are stunning ones at fabulous prices. Greentree village in Harris is a gorgeous woodsy community, which is well maintained, the clubhouse is nice, as is the pool, there are tennis courts but mostly when one goes into this place, it is quiet and serene, a perfect get a way, I saw  several beautiful townhouses going under a hundred thousand with three bathrooms , three bedrooms, a deck, great furniture, and so forth, most of them, were in very very good condition. Look in Greentree on my quick search and you will see what I mean. (There are no pet restrictions here) Another area that has great townhouses that have a sense of drama and light is "the Inner circle, i" outside of Liberty on route 52, There are pet restrictions here. 

Many folks now are looking for an inexpensive vacation home, something with a little land and a place that they might want to retire to. Sullivan County is the place to come, it has fresh air, grass and trees, a ton of trees. There are lakes that can be visited but the area just feels relaxing, a place to bring books to read, a place to canoe, a place to just feel a sense of peace by breathing in the air. There is nothing really suburban about Sullivan County, there have been attempts but they fail. First of all there is no city, only villages and small towns and no real commerce going on, a couple of chicken factories and a mushroom factory, well there is Center for Discovery, a rehabilitation center that is world wide well known and Bethel Performing arts , the hotels are gone, that is for sure, they left slowly, and it does not look like gambling is going anywhere, folks are starting small businesses out of their homes, and the younger generation wants to do sustainable farming, something that is very exciting to think about ...more on that later.

When I went to the Elton John concert, as the night went on, I wondered to myself, where is Elton John sleeping tonight. Well , Yesterday I found out that he stayed at the Beaver Valley Inn in Roscoe, Ny,  friday night and the Villa Roma  saturday night. He loved his dinner at Beaver Valley Inn, I was told , and complimented the chef. I know that Dan Rather hangs out at the Beaver Valley Inn, folks tell me that they see him there  often .Sullivan County does draw a group of people who want to just relax, and be in the real country life. Well this is the place to come, there is plenty of good food and there are so many wonderful Bed and Breakfasts, it is worth just trying one out this   winter for a get away,  to quickly refresh and recoup ones soul, just being in clear light, clear skies and fresh air can make a difference. I am going to investigate some of the bed and breakfasts in the area and will be reporting on them. One of the top of my head is the one at Lake Joseph, they have a great fireplace, always crackling and filled with wood, such a welcoming smell and brings back  so many warm memories for many, who come from the city for a quick respite.Our strength here is great food, quietness, fresh water, and relaxation. , the woods invoke that special feeling.
